As part of SU Scotland's Prayer Initiative, we are looking to hold a number of events throughout the year that will encourage prayer for and with, the children and young people of Scotland.
Please find below 3 of the main events that we plan to hold in the coming months:
Back to School with God Sunday – 27 August 2006
Many churches only give the briefest nod to the fact that the children and teachers in their congregations are heading back to school. SU Scotland want to make this moment a real focus for the beginning of regular prayer for schools.
Pray for Schools Day – 21 November 2006
As in previous years the Europe wide ‘Pray for Schools Day’ will be on the 3rd Tuesday in November. Following on from the launch of prayer groups at the beginning of term we hope this day will see groups refreshed and others beginning.
National Prayer Event – February 2007
Plans are being made for this prayer event which we hope will see young people from all over Scotland joining together to pray for their own witness in school and for their peers.The SU Student Executive - a group made up of those in school (S5/6) or having recently left - are involved in the planning for this event.
